The fort of Santiago - One of the most historical sights in Manila would be the Fort of Santiago it was first built by a spanish conquistador miguel l’opez de legazpi for the building of the new manila after its invasion in 1571 by the Spanish. The fort is one of the most historical sights because several lives were lost in its prison during world war II and the Spanish colonial period
Manila cathedral – the manila metropolitan Cathedral Basilica was first built in 1581 by padre Juan de Vivero. The cathedral is situated in metropolitan Manila and was made of stone. After an earthquake in the 1600the cathedral was destroyed but then constructed again in 1614. The cathedral plays an important part in promoting manilas beliefs and faith.
Cultural Features
Manila is home to some of the Philippines most historical sites and is very popular for its many tourist attractions.

The Taal volcano - Manila is home to the Taal volcano, one of the most significant physical features of the Philippians. The Taal volcano is a complex volcano which means it has many vents it is the second most active volcano in the Philippians with over 33 eruptions over its lifetime .
The Pasig River – the Pasig River is the main river running through metro Manila with many of the population’s homes along side it. The river is 23km long and runs through all six districts of manila. The Pasig River is so polluted that it was reported in 2003 to be one of the worlds most polluted river in the world. The river is dumped with 150 tons of domestic waste and 75 tone of industrial waste daily resulting the river to be recorded as biologically dead.
